Meal Planning Madness – are you ready for it?
I’m not going to lie – meal planning is difficult for me. So, Meal Planning Madness is 100% for me, but I know that I’m not alone in this struggle. Therefore, I structured it in the simplest way to allow you to participate. Here’s the basics:
We went grocery shopping today (Sunday). Today, we basically did what we do most other weeks except with more of a plan than we normally do. The plan will help our household because I work well with plans. As a classically trained chef, my husband wings it – every meal.
Now, game’s on. It’s time to learn from him all I can!
So because that’s how he cooks, I don’t join in. Therefore, I rarely learn. Thankfully, I pay attention and so I have learned a bit from him. Now it’s time to implement.
Why eight slots for each meal?
Well, to be honest, I get quickly bored of meal planning because I feel boxed in. This method of planning and shopping for eight meals allows for some flexibility in the week. This week we spent $160 on the meal plan below but next week we will spend less.
What’s the challenge?
To keep it manageable, the challenge for YOU is to join me for one week! Just fill out the blank template below or use last week’s of mine. This is the first week, so it’s probably just going to be me solo using this. I know one other gal plans to join.
I need your help – send good recipes!
So, my secondary goal is to keep the meals yummy for him. Please send me recipes and ANY suggestions. For instance, my friend told me right away that I need to double the spices on all the crock pot recipes. On Friday, I made a recipe from pinterest and I’m so glad she said that. I doubled all the spices and the dish was DELICIOUS.
*TADA* Here’s this week’s list and meals
Let me remind you (mostly for my own comfort) – I’m not a chef. My meals may not be the yummiest. Please see previous section! Anyways, here it it:
