Did you know there’s a “mom posture”? Once you have your newborn in hand, there is a supernatural bliss that makes a mother almost forget to sit up straight, eat or even go to the bathroom. “Mom posture” is a non-medical term referring to bad posture resulting from those awkward movements and positions while holding a baby. Four Boppy® products made with mommy in mind, will save you from mom posture:
- A Pregnancy Wedge
- A Newborn Lounger
- The Boppy® Nursing Pillow
- ComfyChic® Baby Carrier

My Mom Posture Story
When I was 6 weeks pregnant, I found out that I had a third degree uterine prolapse (out of four degrees). There are a few ways that this happens – genetic history or having many births, to name two. Obviously I haven’t had many children, but it could be a genetic condition – that’s unknown. Another way to create or exacerbate a prolapse is bad posture, especially while working out heavily.

Pregnancy Wedge Helps with Mom Posture
On my journey to pelvic floor health, the Boppy® Pregnancy Wedge Pillow helped my growing bump stay in place while side-lying, which is the best way to sleep while pregnant.
Newborn Lounger
You need to put your baby down every once in a while! So keep the Boppy Newborn Lounger in an easy location, where you can set baby down for wakey time (which is 60-90 minutes until 12 weeks — check out my two kid schedule post for more info on wakey times) It’s also a great way to let siblings get to know each other!

The Legendary, Boppy Pillow
The Boppy® Pillow acts like a second set of arms for the mom to hold baby while nursing. The pillow allows a mom to sit upright while nursing, as baby grows.
The pillow can also be used for tummy time. Thankfully there are a ton of adorable, removable slipcovers. Get a couple to have on hand when spit up happens.
ComfyChic Carrier for Mom Posture
Babies love to be close to mom. Yet, mom still needs to get things done around the house, without breaking her back and keeping baby safe.
Some cultures refer to the fourth trimester as “mommy baby,” because the mother and the baby are still considered a unified being. Babywearing is healing for both mommy and baby. Since I had a significant tear, I need to be able to take walks and get back on my feet but not overdo it. I’m thankful for the sturdy, safe, and ergonomic Boppy ComfyChic® Carrier.
There’s an easy access zipper pocket for an extra paci, keys, or phone. Baby can be worn four different ways, up to 35 pounds, which means Autumn could still fit in here! This carrier goes right into the washer as well (because… spit up happens!)
Don’t forget to set up one or two breastfeeding stations throughout the house to also help you with reaching and comfort! Check out my amazon nursing station list.
